Troop 44 has been guided by dedicated Scoutmasters since its founding in 1973. Each leader has shaped the character, traditions, and spirit of our troop, building on the foundation laid before them.

Steven Shields

Founding Scoutmaster of Troop 44, establishing the troop's traditions and foundation in its inaugural year.

1978 – 1981

1982 – 1988

Perry Odom

Served for 6 years, one of the longest-serving Scoutmasters of the troop's first generation.

George Hensarling

First term: Led the troop through a period of significant growth in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Second term: Returned to serve the troop again, a testament to his dedication to Scouting.

Longest-serving Scoutmaster in troop history at 9 years, guiding the troop through a decade of milestones.
