Quartermaster Inventory

The Quartermaster keeps the troop’s gear and makes sure it goes camping. This is the check list worked the week before a trip, so anything missing can be bought or repaired before Friday rather than discovered at the campsite.

Counts depend on how many patrols are going — the PLC decides that at the planning meeting. See the camping schedule for the rest of the weekend.

Before you sign it off

Two things that are easy to miss:

  • Consumables run out. Propane, mantels, charcoal, foil and bags are the ones that get used up and never noticed until the next trip. Check quantity, not just presence.
  • The fire water bucket and the first aid kit are not optional. They go on every campout whatever the weather.
