Merit badges are one of Scouting’s core advancement tools, covering topics from first aid and cooking to citizenship, programming, and beyond. Troop 44 actively supports merit badge earning in multiple ways — making sure every Scout, especially those on the Eagle trail, stays on track.

How Troop 44 Supports Merit Badge Earning

🎯 Merit Badge Nights

Troop 44 holds regular Merit Badge Nights at troop meetings throughout the year. These structured sessions are led by qualified merit badge counselors, making it easy for Scouts to earn badges within the normal troop meeting schedule — no extra trips required.

🔄 Eagle MB Rotation

Troop 44 runs a structured Eagle-required merit badge rotation on a 2 and 4-year cycle, ensuring every Scout has the opportunity to complete every Eagle-required badge before aging out. No required badge gets skipped or missed.

🆋 Camps & Events

Additional merit badges are available at Summer Camp, Winter Camp, and council events throughout the year — giving Scouts even more opportunities beyond troop meetings to complete requirements.

21 Merit Badges are required to earn Eagle Scout (14 from the Eagle required list)
Troop 44 has Merit Badge Counselors for all Eagle required Merit Badges and several others.
Troop 44 offers Merit Badges during monthly troop meetings and campouts, in addition to Merit Badges offered at Winter and Summer Camps, Council events and Virtually.
